Job Descriptions:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ The Director, Recruitment is responsible for identifying internal and external candidates for key executive, clinical and administrative positions. The Director, Recruitment will recruit candidates for executive, physician and specialized key positions through direct sourcing, referrals, and applicable executive search methods including the use of search firms on occasion. The Director, Recruitment will work on specialized recruitment campaigns, such as physician recruitment.
+ The Director, Recruitment will develop relationships with university residency program placement directors for the purpose of screening residency program graduates for possible physician positions with Sovereign.
+ The Director, Recruitment will identify and pre-screen via phone/video conference and interview selected candidates in face-face meetings. (The Director, Recruitment may direct the HR Associate to perform basic phone pre-screening.) The Director, Recruitment will refer a slate of best-qualified candidates to hiring managers based on appropriate qualifications, credentials, work experience and applicable BFOQs.
+ Upon final selection by senior management, the Director, Recruitment will work with the HR Associate for generating the offer letter, background check, drug screening (as applicable), etc., and with the Legal/Compliance department for the generation of physician employment agreements.
Development and Maintenance of Candidate Data Bank
The Director, Recruitment is responsible for developing a candidate data bank for ready access to potentially viable external candidates for executive, medical and other key positions. The Candidate Data Bank and an applicable succession plan should be the first steps in identifying candidates for vacant positions.
The Director, Recruitment performs the following:
+ Designs and/or updates the onboarding program as necessary.
+ Works with the HR Associate on assimilating new employees to the organization through onboarding meetings, which may vary in accordance with group acquisition or individual hires.
+ Works with various parties within the organization and HR department on the workforce integration of acquired medical practices and centers.
Workforce Planning and Staff Retention
+ The Director, Recruitment confers with department heads on workforce needs for current and future expectations. The incumbent will assist all department heads with skills identification for new hires and current employees and retention of top quality staff. He/she will also periodically perform critical skills gap analyses to ensure that current and future staff maintain necessary skills/knowledge.
+ The Director, Recruitment will also analyze exit interview data to determine reasonable solutions to unwanted voluntary turnover.
Special Projects/Working with the CHRO
The Director, Recruitment will work with the CHRO on special projects. Examples of such projects are below.
+ Succession Planning
The Director, Recruitment may work with the CHRO on the design of succession plans to assist in continuity of key positions and to provide a path for existing high-performing employees to be promoted.
+ Employee Relations
The Director, Recruitment may assist the CHRO by acting as witness during disciplinary meetings or during investigatory interviews.
+ Performance Management
The Director, Recruitment may assist the CHRO in the design and implementation of a new performance management program.
+ Community Events
The Director, Recruitment may assist the CHRO and the HR Associate with community events and programs that provide the community with information about Sovereign and the Sovereign brand.
Required Experience:
A 4-year degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or related field is required. A Master s degree is desirable, but not necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
+ PHR, SPHR or similar certification is preferred
+ Must have a minimum of 5 years of prior experience recruiting for a healthcare organization, particularly recruitment for physicians.
Equipment and Applications
Knowledge of and experience using MS Office, including PowerPoint presentations, or similar applications is required.
