Job Summary
This position will assist the Director of Liability Claims Litigation and Large Loss and other members of the Company s claims and legal teams with several areas of focus, including but not limited to administering legal bill review, document and asset preservation, regulatory agency complaints, and service of process, maintenance of document library as well as other day-to-day corporate responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Administer electronic legal bill review and matter management system known as Tracker ;
+ Generate monitor and audit Company litigation document holds;
+ Administer regulatory agency and escalated customer service complaint log, including but not limited to, Department of Insurance and Attorney General complaints;
+ Assist with the monitoring and appropriate handling of summons and complaints as received by the Department, and routing them to the appropriate Company personnel to ensure timely and appropriate response;
+ Provide general support for the Liability Claims Litigation department s handling of corporate legal matters;
+ Support all in-house litigation efforts, including responsibility for tracking litigation status, maintaining accurate documentation, and periodic correspondence with outside counsel assistance with discovery requests as needed and status reporting;
+ Maintain current, up-to-date procedures and responses for all subpoena and document production responsibilities and processes; and,
+ Special projects and other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Required Experience
+ Associate s degree or equivalent from an accredited university or college; and,
+ Minimum 2 years legal assistant experience with knowledge of liability claims, litigation and corporate matters.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Experience with multi-state Service of Process (CSC);
+ Experience with document preservation and preparation of litigation holds;
+ Ability to communicate effectively with our claims partners and senior leadership;
+ Document management and organization skills required;
+ Paralegal certificate helpful, as well as prior experience in a corporate legal department ;
+ Impeccable attention to detail and analytical ability;
+ Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively work with various departments and individuals throughout the Company, including senior management;
+ Strong process and knowledge management skills;
+ Excellent judgment and delivery-oriented attitude;
+ Demonstrated ability to contribute immediately in a challenging and fast-paced environment;
+ Sense of professional work ethic and teamwork;
+ Unquestioned discretion handling confidential information;
+ Must be self-motivated, have a strong sense of urgency with ability to work independently and as a team member;
+ Notary public experience; and,
+ Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Travel Requirements
Minimal travel is required.
