Position Overview
Individual will perform welding repairs on the heavy equipment fleet including but not limited to buckets, haul truck body liners. This individual will be equipped with a company truck and will be expected to travel to other locations to assist with the welding needs of the entire Tilcon NY fleet.
Individual will also be required to perform all aspects of the day to day mechanical needs of the fleet, which includes but not limited to trouble shooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:/h3:(Essential Duties and Functions):/h3:
:Assist the plant foreperson with the daily upkeep of the equipment.
:Trouble shoot electrical / hydraulic systems.
:Be able to work alone unsupervised at times.
:Perform welding and fabrication duties as required on production equipment.
:Detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
:Do monthly bucket / bed liner inspections and schedule repairs with equipment superintendent.
:Follow directions.
:Wear a hardhat, safety glasses, steel: toed foot wear, gloves, hearing protection and respirator as needed.
:Create work orders in company CMMS system.
:Enter daily work time in company Infield system.
Additional Responsibilities
:Display a professional and courteous attitude to co:workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
:Must be willing to work mandatory nights and weekends
:Report to the assigned plant facility in uniform and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
:Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in environmental, Health and Safety Manual.
:Strict adherence to Tilcon policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual.
:Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co:workers or supervisors with other duties as required
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
:Mechanical skills needed.
:Cutting and welding skill will be tested.
:Must have a safety mind set.
:High School or GED
:Successful completion of MSHA/OSHA Training
:Task training on an as needed basis
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
:Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions
:Basic mathematical skills
:Able to perform all duties without a direct threat of injury to the individual or others.
:Demonstrates safe, productive job performance
:Ability to communicate effectively with and work well with other personnel
:Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions and deal with simple problems
: Ability to read English or Spanish
