Full-Time HR Specialist
Description

Full-Time HR Specialist position available A food company in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to assist the HR Director in performing the following tasks:
- Create and post job descriptions for open positions at the company.
- Review resumes of potential candidates; perform phone interviews and schedules face-to-face interviews; assist HR Director in conducting face-to-face interviews of potential candidates.
- Oversee New Employee Hire process by creating new employee file, providing and reviewing new employee documents such as I-9, W4, direct deposit, health insurance and general employee worksheets, contact IT department to set up email.
- Maintain human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, tracks vacation, sick, and personal time; updates employee forms and information as necessary.
- Perform yearly reviews for all employees to determine raises and bonuses.
- Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
- Institute and monitor time clock for all employees; provide results to HR Director on a weekly basis.
- Manage benefit enrollment process by coordinating with Health Insurance Broker. Adds and terminates employees to Health Insurance as necessary.
- File and Monitor workmen compensation claims with insurance company. Provide substantiation documents as requested.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements.
- Review company policies and provides HR Director with suggested improvements.
- Document human resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Process incoming mail and distribute to applicable employees.
- Assist HR Director in other Human Resources task as needed.
Requirements:
- 1-2 Years of HR experience
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills
